Christine Johnson, an independent autodidact designer, was born and raised in Washington, DC. From a young age, she displayed a vibrant creativity through artwork contests and a keen eagerness to bring her imaginative visions to life. Transitioning into her teenage years, Christine developed an appreciation for fashion, styling ensembles with unique pieces from her mother's personal wardrobe, often featuring one-of-a-kind leather and suede garments.

At the age of 17, Christine took her first step into fashion design by deconstructing and upcycling her personal clothing. While pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at Averett University, she dedicated herself to her craft, creating in a 'flow state' within her mother's unfinished basement, which served as her design studio. This commitment extended into the early hours of the morning.

In 2017, Christine launched her independent fashion brand, Prophetic Embellishment, introducing her inaugural collection, Rêveur, while studying French fashion history at the Catholic Institute of Paris. Today, as a multidisciplinary creator, she draws ongoing inspiration from the biblical verse Romans 12:2. Her multifaceted upbringing and the support of her mother have played pivotal roles in her passionate pursuit of design.
